Get the Job, Sis: How to Crush Your Work-from-Home Interview

Because you deserve to get paid in sweatpants and lip gloss.

ree

Hey bestie

So let's talk about it. You really scheduled that remote job interview — maybe it's a customer service job, a virtual assistant position, or otherwise on your work-from-home glow-up journey. Either way, the pressure is on… and you want to make sure you come through (or come through online) with boss energy.

As your online bestie who's been there, and as the founder of The Glam Care Hub, I'm here to walk you through all you need to do to completely SLAY your remote interview — and land that offer.

Let's get started.

Step 1: Know the Role, Know the Brand

Get your homework in before you even turn on Zoom, boo.

Browse their site, social media, Glassdoor reviews — even their vibe. Are they relaxed or corporate? Do they value creativity or process?

Tip: Write down their mission, values, and everything that you notice that is one-of-a-kind. Bring it up in the interview = immediate gold star ⭐

Step 2: Test That Tech, Sis!

Nothing will make you more nervous than your camera freezing on you mid-sentence ????

So BEFORE the interview

Check your Wi-Fi

Test your webcam and mic

Download Zoom/Teams/whatever platform beforehand

Make sure your whole name shows on the screen (no "iPhone #4" vibe ????)

Extra tip: Clean your camera lens so you're crisp and bright, not providing steamy realism.

Step 3: Dress the Part (Even from the Waist Up)

Aye, we're team comfy — but you still wanna be the pro bad one you are.

✔️ Soft glam makeup (if you're rocking it)

✔️ Blazer or top in a neutral color (pastels are so cute for spring btw!)

✔️ Hair out of your face

✔️ Uncluttered, clean background

✨ Your workspace doesn't need to be a Pinterest nightmare. A bare wall or a cute plant is okay!

Step 4: Practice Like You're Already Hired

No need to memorize anything — just be ready. Here are some things you'll be asked:

"Tell me about yourself" → Practice a quick, confident glow-up story

"Why do you want this job?" → Show you've done your homework

"How do you handle working alone?" → Share real-life examples

"Tell us about a time you handled a tough customer" → Be honest but optimistic

Resource: Practice your answers using MockQuestions.com or ChatGPT (yes, me).

Step 5: Ask Questions Like a Boss

When they say "Do you have questions for us?" — don't freak out! This is your chance to show that you care.

Here are some questions you can shoot at them:

"What does success look like in this role?"

"Can you take me through the training program?"

"Best part about working here?"

"Growth opportunity?"

Qs = confidence. Remember.
